  • Is encouraging our employees, communities and guests to respect and considerate for the natural heritage.
  • Promotes the proper management of waste, recycling, reuse, repair, rejection and reduction.
  • Is encouraging water conservation in all activities of the organization and conduct educational activities for communities and tourists.
  • Is encouraging small local economies to generate employment and micro enterprises.
  • Promotes the recovery of values and traditions of the local communities to conserve the local identity.
  • Will not feed wildlife to avoid dependence for animals on humans.
  • Will not allow sound devices high volume within the reserve, to avoid the sonic impact to wildlife.
  • Uses clean energy sources to support global initiatives on climate change and environmental protection.
  • Participates at local, regional, national and international forums that targets the conservation of global biodiversity.
  • Puts a total ban on hunting, taking or destruction of plants or animals within the reserve and respect for the laws that regulate hunting and tree felling.
  • Will not generate sex-related differences of people to apply for positions within the company.
  • Will investigate and report any type of assault or sexual harassment within the company.

    To meet the objective of conservation and species protection in the reserve Mongensen Karen, the following rules for admission are to be followed:

  • Follow the instructions that are provided for your safety and for a pleasant stay.
  • Stay on the trays and don’t go in other areas.
  • During the night it is not allowed to walk the trails without a guide.
  • When walking the common areas use a torchlight.
  • Do not feed the wildlife. They can suffer serious health problems if they eat people’s food.
  • Reserve Mongensen Karen is a natural preserve. We invite you to observe, enjoy and take as many pictures as you like. But please do not remove plants, animals, stones or other materials as souvenirs.
  • Do not buy souvenirs which are crafted from protected materials.
  • Illegal drugs are not allowed (local laws).
  • The use of alcoholic beverages is not allowed.
  • Smoking is not permitted on community areas (local laws)
  • Do not throw trash, use the trash cans.
  • It is not permitted to take any vegetal, animal or mineral samples from the park.
